Rescheduled: U of M Master’s Practicum Project for Landscape Architecture, Hosted by Audi & Ashley – Sunday, 7/25/2021

Unfortunately, our Gardening Event has been rescheduled to Sunday, July 25th, from 8 am – 4:30 pm due to inclement weather expected on Saturday. We hope you are still able to attend! Sunday’s weather is going to be perfect! Thank you for understanding.

Join Audeline and Ashley, graduate students from the University of Michigan, in transforming the Bird Center of Michigan’s landscape into a beautiful, naturalized, bird-friendly garden!

As one of the main features of their Master’s Practicum Project for Landscape Architecture, more than 500 plants (mostly perennials) will be going into the ground beginning Sunday, July 25th, and they need all the help they can get to make this happen!

If you are interested in helping this vision come to life, please join us whenever you can! Event runs from 8 am – 4:30 pm. (You do not need to volunteer for the entire day. Even a few hours will help!)

Cold beverages and snacks will be provided! Check out our Facebook event page to RSVP.

Happy 4th!

The Bird Center of Michigan would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July holiday weekend! We’d like to remind you to be aware of the life-threatening injuries fireworks can cause many types of wildlife species.

Spring is a time of new beginnings!

The Bird Center of Washtenaw County is excited to announce we have a new name and a new home!

Our new name is…Bird Center of Michigan!

The new Bird Center of Michigan is a much larger facility on 2.5 acres located in Saline, MI, allowing us to EXPAND our mission, to help songbirds from across the state.

The vision for the new facility is as vast as our needs. With four times the space of our old building, we hope to add indoor aviaries for fledglings, X-Ray technology to help treat fractures, outdoor flight pens for pre-release conditioning, to start!

As of Thursday, April 1, 2021, we will be “open for intakes”! Intake protocol will continue as follows:

Finders of injured or orphaned birds MUST call the Bird Center of Michigan, before removing or moving the animal. Callers will receive direction and/or advice as to what is best for the animal.

PHONE: 734.761.9640 (same phone number)
WEB SITE: https://birdcentermi.org/ (new URL)
AMAZON Wish List items: https://birdcentermi.org/donate-supplies/

Thank you supporters for helping us grow and share our vision! Your tax deductible donation will give hundreds of beautiful birds another chance to fly free and brighten our world! We are singing from the trees!
